In the beginning, it costs a lot. Then, over time, it starts to hurt less. We start to create antibodies. We become more resilient. We transform this pain that started out to be intense in what turns us into people capable of overcoming it. It's not easy. There are powerful poisons, expertly dosed, capable of paralyzing or sleeping us. Fear of what they think or say about us, for example. The fear of suffering again; fear of losing; and the fear of feeling lost again. The fear of not being good enough. In other words, the fear of not being considered good enough. Then, over time, we find the antidote. We trust more and more in the person we are and it doesn't hurt that we do not fit in their world. We realize that when we do our best, the rest doesn't matter.
